Heading: Services: Laser Treatment for Vascular & Pigmented Skin
What kind of laser do we use and why?
The DioLite™ 532 laser is a virtually painless, effective method to eliminate specific skin discoloration.

How does the laser work?
The DioLite™ 532 laser makes it possible to reduce unattractive skin lesions with the gentle action of a light beam. It allows comfortable, safe, non-traumatic and precise treatment of vascular and pigmented skin lesions.

Does it hurt?
In most cases, treatments are performed without any anesthesia, though a local topical anesthetic may be used. Patients rarely feel more than slight discomfort.

What are Vascular and Pigmented Lesions?
Vascular lesions are blood vessels superficially located in the skin and are called spider veins. Vascular lesions can be successfully treated on the face, body and extremities with the DioLite laser. Pigmented lesions occur as a result of ultraviolet radiation injury from the sun over time. These spots are called lentigo or sun spots and can be successfully treated with the DioLite laser.

What skin conditions are treated?

Facial Telangiectasia
- spider veins caused by a dilation of capillary vessels or arterioles

Angiomas - slightly raised, red lesions (Cherry Angiomas) and slightly raised, red spider-like lesions (Spider Angiomas)

Rosacea - red facial lesions around the nose and cheeks causing a sunburn look

Lentigines - flat, brown spots on the skin; present on skin with frequent sun exposure

Keratoses - slightly elevated brown spots often found on the back and hands

Freckles - tan spots on the skin; common on people with fair skin

Dermatosis Papulosis Nigra - small, black marks seen primarily on people of Asian or African descent

In addition to the skin conditions listed above, spotting on the skin may be caused by other conditions. A consultation with our skin care specialists will determine if you are a candidate for this procedure.

What Is the procedure like?
Using a thin hand piece, our Skin Care Specialists direct a beam of laser light to the specific area of treatment. There may be a slight stinging sensation during the treatment, followed by some redness. The redness should disappear in two to four hours.

How quickly should I expect results?
Final results should be evident within 10-14 days for vascular lesions, and within 2-3 weeks for pigmented lesions.

How many visits are needed?
Typically, one visit is enough. For larger areas or multiple areas, more than one appointment may be necessary.

How much does it cost?
Our Personal Care Specialists will meet with you to help determine the cost of your treatment. We will make every effort to provide the most economical solution for you.*

*Health insurance plans do not provide reimbursement for cosmetic procedures.
