What kind of laser do we use and why?

We use the Apex™ 800 laser or the Palomar MediLux IPL. These lasers generate a beam of intense light directed through a small hand piece to the treatment site. We chose these lasers because we believe they are the most gentle on your skin. These lasers treat more than one hair at a time, making it possible to treat larger areas of the body in a shorter time period than other lasers.

Getting rid of unwanted hair can be tedious, involving depilatory creams, hot wax, razors or electrolysis; all of these treatments can cause a painful rash or irritating ingrown hairs. Hair removal with the diode Apex 800 laser or the Palamor MediLux doesn't pull or pluck to remove the hair. Rather, the light gently destroys the hair follicle, the source of the hair growth.

How quickly can I expect results?
Almost immediately.

How long will the treatment take?
Size of the treatment area determines length of the office visit. A leg can take up to an hour; an upper lip may take as little as fifteen minutes.

How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments required to obtain optimal results varies with hair density, hair color, skin types, the treatment area and your hair growth cycle. Typically, you will need three to six courses of treatment for one area.

How much does it cost?
Laser treatment for your hair will replace the razors, creams and waxes for the rest of your life. Our Personal Care Specialist will meet with you to determine the cost of your treatment. We will make every effort to provide the most economical solution for you.*

*Health insurance plans do not provide reimbursement for cosmetic procedures.

Is the hair removal permanent?
The laser causes permanent hair reduction and delayed regrowth of the treated hair follicles. Three to six courses of treatment may result in a significant enough improvement that it may be all you desire or require

Who will be treating me?
Our Personal Care Specialists have received extensive in-service training in the use of the Apex 800 laser (hair removal diode laser) and the Palomar MediLux IPL (intense pulse light).
